The suspect is in custody in connection with the brutal murder of a 17-year-old A high school senior who was found stabbed to death in California days before Christmas.
The family of Angelina Camillia Gonzales says the woman's ex-boyfriend is to blame.
Gonzales' family said local station KABC that her ex-boyfriend picked her up from a viewing party and took her back to his house on December 20.
Around 10:00 that night, officers from the Azusa Police Department found Gonzales suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The family says one of them was able to trace Gonzales' phone to her ex-boyfriend's house, according to KABC.
“When I got there, there was already crime scene tape and forensic experts and all kinds of things. And I ran up to the officers like, 'Hey, my daughter is there. You know, my daughter is in there. I'm trying to find her.' That's when they told me, sit back for a minute,” Robert Caraballo, Angelina's stepfather, told KABC.

Caraballo said she told her stepdaughter to stay away from her ex-boyfriend several times, but she also said he had a “very big heart and always saw what is good for him.”
According to a GoFundMe page set up by Gonzales' mother, Letica Carabello, he was about to turn 18 on January 7.
“He had a bright future ahead of him. He had a heart of gold. He was my perfect Angel child,” Letica Carabello wrote. “I have no words. I can't even stand it. I need him. Our family is devastated. We appreciate all the support and love. Thank you everyone.”

The police have not identified a suspect, only saying that he is an 18-year-old boy who knows the victim. resident of Azusa.
The suspect's trial is scheduled for Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office he told Fox News Digital.
Officials said the district attorney is also reviewing the case, and filing decisions will be made Tuesday morning.
