A man was seriously injured in an attack with a knife near the Berlin Holocaust Memorial.
The incident happened around 6:00 pm local time (17:00 GMT), the X police said, adding that investigations of the incident “continue”.
According to Tagesspiegel, the employees have been enclosed by the site and are wanted.
Police are looking for suspects, also a man who, according to them, escaped from the scene with the weapon.
It is unclear whether the victim, who was transported to a hospital with wounds, which is not thought to be life -threatening, was known to the attacker.
Police say they are not aware of an alleged motive and several witnesses have been interviewed.
They also say they don't know what the weapon is.
Many officers were located in the area afterwards, and on the spot it is said that there are rescue workers on the spot “Care for several people who witnessed events”
The knife attack seems to have been carried out on the north side of the memorial – against what the US Embassy sits.
The memorial of the killed Jews from Europe, which covers 19,000 square meters, is described as the central memorial of the Holocaust of Germany.
