The company will consolidate manufacturing in its existing facilities at Turlock and Salida, located in the California Central Valley.

“The work ethic and drive of our Sacramento team has enabled us to build a blue diamond in what it is today,” CEO and President Kai Bockmann Have said ABC news.

“However, the challenges of running a plant from these historic buildings have become too costly and inefficient. Simplifying our manufacturing plants is a very moving business.”

Founded in 1910, Blue Diamond has long been a fight in the California agricultural sector. Meanwhile, the co -operative is offering redundancy packages, relocation support and incentives to 600 employees to help with the transformation.

Despite the company's assurances, the closure has driven concerns about Sacramento's ability to support large businesses.

“There is a test in the dessert,” Sanjay Varshney, Professor of Finance at the University of Sacramento State, told ABC News.

“A blue diamond is just another sign that walks away that something is wrong with how we do business here.”

Varshney referred to the high living costs of Sacramento, an onerous regulatory environment and unfriendly business conditions as key suspensions. The idea refused that international trade or tariffs were the main reasons for closing.
