Campaign creators often have to re-edit the same images multiple times to keep their websites and social media fresh. With the advent of AI-powered image and video editing platforms, organizations will turn to these products to reduce these difficult tasks.

Adobe announced Adobe Firefly Bulk Create, a new product linked to its Adobe Firefly Services API suite that streamlines the process. Bulk Create is a web application that allows users to edit multiple photos with AI in one go.

Bulk Create does not require users to download a desktop app or obtain a license to run Photoshop. As long as someone pays for Adobe Firefly Services, they get access to the web application for Bulk Create.

Currently, Bulk Create can do two things: change backgrounds and resize images. Using Adobe Firefly Modelusers can remove or replace the background of the photos they upload at the same time. They can too create a new background and upload them to the platform using Firefly. The resizing feature contains presets for popular social media platforms such as Instagram or Facebook, which have specific image dimensions.

The app also learns brand preferences so customers can customize the look of their images.

Bulk Create is currently in private beta, but Adobe said the platform will be generally available in the first quarter of this year.

Good problem

Hannah Elsakr, vice president of product at Adobe Firefly GenAI for Enterprise, told VentureBeat that balancing the size of the images with the time to update and edit is a mathematical problem that remains an important issue for many enterprise creative teams.

“There's an unprecedented demand for content at all levels, and it's frustrating for many creative teams,” said Elsakr. “And yes I mean by that (that) we have more and more digital channels and a need for personalization with communication. “

Elsakr said businesses—retailers, for example—often need to update product photos for their websites and social media channels to reflect seasonality. This could mean around 52 updates a year, one new picture a week. Photography is expensive, so re-editing images to change backgrounds or resize them for the various social platforms is the most cost-effective option. While users would normally resort to Adobe's popular editing tool, Photoshop, Bulk Create allows people who do not have Photoshop access to the editing features to perform these tasks.

Currently, Bulk Create only edits images, although Elsakr said video support may be coming soon.

Adobe has always been very involved in the creative space. In June 2023, he released a file Campaign version of Firefly which offered “commercially viable” AI content. Following that news, some creators of Adobe stock images they voiced their concerns that the company could be training the model with their work. In 2024, after users notice a few words in the Adobe Terms of Service asking customers to agree to give access to their work, Adobe promised it Firefly does not train on customer work.

AI in creative works

Using generative AI to generate or edit images has become the norm for many enterprises, however many artists believe that these tools are training on their work without their permission.

Most AI module providers have an image generation or editing module. Open AI who has DALL·E 3, which is now integrate into ChatGPT. Googleand Picture 3 now available to users, and Meta allow people on Instagram and Facebook create pictures. Other popular image generators include AI stability and Medium Trip. Even Getty Images has a text-to-image generator.

As these tools become easier, and if they are moved to label content generated by AI gains steam, more enterprises will turn to AI to get the images they need. At the same time, a wider back against Images generated by AI, and the public has become very aware of art believe made by an AI model.
