AI or Nota widely covered AI fraud detection platform, has raised $5 million in a seed funding round to accelerate the use of “AI to detect AI” in images, audio video and depths to prevent fraud and misinformation.
Foundation Capital established the round, with participation from GTMFund, Plug and Play, and strategic angel investors.
The company noted 85% Corporate finance professionals now see AI scams as an “already” threat and more than half have become targets of deep technology.

In the next two years, a generation of AI scams could account for the rest $40 billion of losses in the US alone. It is this growing threat that has fueled AI or Not's growth over the past year, serving more than 250,000 users to date, with the new funding injection used to develop more sophisticated methods created to detect misinformation online and ensure their devices stay ahead of changing threats.

With the advent of AI generation models, now we can no longer be so sure,” said Zach Noorani, a partner at Foundation Capital, in a statement. “AI or Not's unique approach to AI discovery solves this emerging problem. The AI or Not platform uses proprietary algorithms to identify and verify authenticity in content, from AI generation depths imitating female politicians, deep voices used to imitating old people to generate music with AI that is already present on major streaming platforms.
Like the recent backlash against companies like Meta ambitions, public demand for authenticity and transparency in digital content continues to grow. With its innovative tools, AI or Not is uniquely positioned to address these challenges, helping consumers and enterprises overcome the complexities of the AI era while protect trust in the digital world.
