If you're going on vacation today, I hope you're not flying on American Airlines because it could still be a rough day. Earlier this morning, the airline reported on X that all of its flights are currently suspended, but the FAA has since canceled the stopwhich was originally issued at the airline's request. Even though things are returning to normal, there's a good chance these disruptions will have a ripple effect that will make a busy travel day even more stressful.
How Edge marked, a notice issued by the Federal Aviation Administration confirms that there is a “nationwide grounding” for all AA flights; it also said the shutdown was “at the request of the company.”

Other than the FAA notification and American Airlines' message to X, no real reason for the delay was given. But since the grounding was removed, CNN reports that An American Airlines spokesperson said the grounding was due to a “vendor technology issue” that has now been “resolved and flights have resumed.”
