An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred on Sunday in the southwestern part of Mexico This was reported by the US Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The aftershock occurred about five miles from the municipality of Coalcaman de Vazquez Palares, a town of about 20,000 people, about 372 miles west of the capital, Mexico City. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 53 miles.
This was announced by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum social media platform X that the national emergency services reported that “there are no new developments and review protocols are being initiated” in Coalcaman.
