IN newsletter, BloombergThe company's Mark Gurman says there will be a new model in the iPhone 17 lineup that could be called the iPhone 17 Air, and it will be about 2 millimeters thinner than any other model we've ever seen. “It will have a base-level A19 chip and single-lens camera system,” notes Gurman, and will serve as “a testing ground for future technologies, including those that will enable foldable devices.” According to Gurman, this and the new iPhone SE will use Apple's first proprietary modem.
We'll also likely see updates to the entry-level iPad that will make it compatible with Apple Intelligence. Gurman reports that the next generation of iPad will feature an A17 Pro chip and 8GB of memory. According to Gurman, this news should appear in the spring along with the iPhone SE and new iPad Air models.
