An Ohio State player, the TikTok star was ejected before the national championship game against Notre Dame


Ohio State looks strong in the top 12 College football game.

After beating the Oregon Ducks in the quarterfinals, the Buckeyes beat Texas The Longhorns are in the semifinals to advance to Monday's championship game. But one member of the Buckeyes, who rose to prominence due to his social media presence, will not be making the trip to Atlanta for the national title game.

Caden Davis, a former walk-on, has been dismissed from the team, Ohio State Athletics Director Jerry Emig confirmed to A lamp.

The sophomore defensive end never recorded a tackle during his short tenure as Ohio State student athlete. Davis has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on popular social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

University officials did not immediately provide details about what led to Davis' firing.

At times, Davis' webcast would provide fans with the latest information on Ohio State's football team and athletics. He would also write about his life as a student at the Columbus, Ohio campus.

As of Wednesday, at least one of Davis' social media posts read, “Ohio State football #61,” while other reports referred to the football program.

In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, Davis hinted that he was traveling to the Dallas area with the Buckeyes for the semifinal game against Texas in the Cotton Bowl. It was later determined that the photos Davis shared were from last season's Cotton Bowl. Missouri defeated Ohio State in that game.

Ohio State last won a national championship in 2014, which was the inaugural College Football Playoff Championship.

Notre Dame punched its ticket to the state game with the win Georgia bulldogs in the quarterfinals before knocking off Penn State in the semifinals. The championship game begins at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on January 20 at 7:30 pm ET.
