In a shocking incident in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district, a woman of Yendagandi village, Undi mandal, was left terrified after receiving a parcel containing a dead body of an unknown person.
According to reports in IANS, the recipient, Naga Tulsi, had approached the Kshatriya Seva Samithi for financial assistance to build her house. In response, the organization initially sent her tiles for the project.
Later, Tulsi sought additional support and assured that electrical appliances like lights, fans and switches would be provided. She even received a confirmation via WhatsApp indicating that these items would arrive.
A parcel arrived at Naga Tulsi's house on Thursday evening and was handed over by a person claiming to have the promised electrical equipment. However, when Tulsi opened the package, she was horrified to find a dead body of a man inside.
Shocked by the discovery, her family immediately informed the police. Authorities immediately reached the spot, started investigations and sent the body to the government hospital for post-mortem.
A letter inside the parcel demanded Rs 1.30 crore and warned the family of dire consequences if the amount was not paid.
District Superintendent of Police Adnan Naeem Azmi visited the village to personally supervise the case. Authorities are working to trace the person who handed over the parcel and have called representatives of the Kshatriya Seva Samithi for questioning.
Preliminary police findings have revealed that the body of a 45-year-old person shows signs of having been dead for 4-5 days. Investigators are investigating the possibility of foul play and cross-checking missing persons reports from surrounding police jurisdictions. The investigation is active and ongoing.
