General Muhzi Caineergaba, the son of Uganda President, confirmed the body of the leader of a detention that has been missing for five days.
Edward Sebufu, nicknamed Eddie Mutu, was reported to have been harvested on Sunday by unidentified persons in both civilian clothing and military fatigue in the central city of Kivanga, provoking public outrage.
In a series of posts of X, Gen. Kinerugabai, who is also a military head of Uganda, said Mr. Sebuufu was “in my basement”, attaching the photo of the body with a clear shaved head.
Kainerugabai's remarks have caused public anger with ugandans, using the #freeeddiemutwe has to demand the release of G -N Sebuufu and condemn it.
Gen. Cainerubaba often makes political comments that his critics claim to be contrary to the Code of Discipline of the Military.
The 51-year-old army general is regarded as a possible heir to his longtime father, Yori Museven, in power since 1986, who denies that he has been taking care of his son for the presidency.
Gen Kainerugaba made many controversial statements on social media, touching subjects considered a taboo to be a servant.
In 2022, he made titles to discuss an invasion in neighboring Kenya, a comment that forced his father to intervene and apologize.
He recently sparked anger with a tweet in which he threatened to behead opposition leader Robert Kiagulan, known as Bobby Wine.
Late on Thursday, he sparked another storm on social media after posting a photo of Mr. Sebufu, Bobby Body Guard, which appears half naked and clean shaved.
Bobby Vina said that G -n -N -Sebuufu was “violently abducted” by Kivango by armed men traveling in a police van known as a “drone” before being stirred in an unknown place.
In a series of posts, Gen. Kainerugaba said his soldiers captivated G -N -N -Sebuufu, “liked a grasshopper” and he studied Runyankore, a language spoken in Western Uganda while in custody.
He said that G -n -Sebuu “seems very smart these days” after his beard was shaved by “my boy”, citing his junior soldiers.
The general said he would release a bodyguard only if he was ordered to do so from his father, President Museven.
Gen. Kainerubaba did not explicitly stated where he had been held by Sebufu or on what legal charges.
Security forces are yet to comment on the issue, but police spokesman Kituuma Rusoke on Monday told local media that he was not aware that he was held in any police station.
Opposition officials and social media users in Uganda have asked for the bodyguard to be presented in court if he is in law.
Bobby wine called for a “Solidarity” rally on Friday in the capital Campala, accusing Gen. Cainegaba for “illegal holding, torturing and dehumanization” by his bodyguard.
“This is a non -partisan opportunity to unite. Friends of Eddie and other Ugandians on a good conscience, let's get together in solidarity not only with Eddie but also with all political prisoners!”, Bobby wine published on X.
In statementThe Uganda Law Society called for the immediate release of a bodyguard, stating that his or her test was not an isolated case but “part of a systematic campaign to jam disagreement and crush the aspirations of people longing for freedom.”
Society feared that the reported participation of the army on “emphasizes dangerous connections of military force and political oppression.”
G -n Sebuufu, who led Bobby guilt's personal security details, has been arrested several times and has been charged with various crimes, including betrayal and illegal possession of ammunition. The opposition says his arrests and accusations are politically motivated.
It has been a key goal in several security repression of opposition activities, especially during elections and mobilization campaigns, local media reported.
Bobby Wine, a popular singer who announced his intention to challenge President Museven for the second time in the 2026 election, is often prevented from pursuing political rallies.
There is concerns about the direction of opposition figures and supporters of security agencies, as political mobilization is intensifying in the election.
