Anti-Trump activist Jim Acosta was left off CNN's new weekly list when it aired Thursday.
Acosta's 10 a.m. ET show was replaced by “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown,” in the network's latest change. CNN has shuffled its staff and anchors several times over the past few years, but the latest shakeup appears to leave Acosta in limbo.
“We are in active discussions with Jim about a new season and will have more information to share soon,” a CNN spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Other changes include Jake Tapper being moved to a two-hour slot from 5 to 7 pm ET, while CNN's lineup of Anderson Cooper, Kaitlan Collins and Abby Phillip remains unchanged from 8-11 pm ET.

It was first reported in The Situation last week that Acosta was tapped by CNN CEO Mark Thompson to move her from her one-hour slot at 10 a.m. ET to a two-hour slot beginning at noon. a night, which is a very rare place in the line. .
Acosta became widely known as CNN's chief White House correspondent for his controversial relationship with President Donald Trump and his advisers during Trump's first term. Although the previous leadership of CNN produced constant games of Acosta and the first Trump administration, the current leadership of the network seems to be trying to appear neutral for the second trip.

One employee believes Acosta is “replenishing” on the internet.
“Acosta is a great broadcaster who can handle any slot on the network,” a CNN employee said Fox News Digital. “The midnight thing is weird (but) it is what it is.”
The network's changes were announced on the same day that CNN announced that nearly 6% of the network's workforce would be cut.
The The Los Angeles Times reports that if Acosta refuses to accept the midnight change, “he may go off the grid,” according to figures familiar with his thinking.
The Times also reported that the midnight move would move Acosta out of CNN's DC headquarters and into the network's Los Angeles office, though the move would not be it became a necessity since his family is based in Washington.

Acosta first joined CNN in 2007, where he covered the political campaigns and eventually the Obama and Trump White Houses. He quickly became known for shouting questions at Trump's White House press secretary and frequently went toe-to-toe with the president himself, making popularity and gaining the power of Trump's position after being called “fake news.”
Acosta famously refused to give up the microphone at a 2018 press conference as he debated Trump. White House tried to cancel Acosta's press release following the dust-up, but his details were reinstated when CNN argued that it violated Acosta's First and Fifth Amendment Rights and the network.
Acosta's adversarial relationship with the first Trump administration proved to be lucrative as he racked up book deals and became a frequent guest on late-night talk shows, bolstering his star power. giving him the anchor seat during the Biden presidency.
