Apple's Mac Studio's compact desktop system is on a less frequent cycle of upgrading than its laptops – more common than Mac Pro, however, making sense given the more commercial target audience of Pro – but like all Apple computers, the design remains the same for a long time before refreshing. So surprising, the new 2025 studio looks true as The original launched in 2022 (And that 2023 heir). All changes are inside, with upgrading to M4 Max and M3 Ultra processors that bring support for Thunderbolt 5 and much more memory.
Along with MacBook is broadcast Launched along with the studio, pre-orders begin today and begin delivery on March 12. Input configuration prices remain the same, starting at $ 1,999, although the base configuration (M4 max) has a little more memory (36 GB versus 32 GB). The ultra -based memory is 96 GB and is maximum of 512 GB.

There is still no ultra chip M4 – Ultraians are essentially two connected maximum chips and because there was no M3 ultra, Apple only used the longer lead time available using the older M3 Max. Apple still updated it to support Thunderbolt 5, though. And, like its predecessor, the M3 Ultra has twice the gates of MAX Thunderbolt because the two connected M3-generation chips have their own controllers: it means that the two front ports are USB-C for maximum configurations and thunderstorms.
The large number of cores and the amount of memory are to strengthen the performance of applications they need – creative and local AI training/use of larger models, among other things. What is noticeable is that the M3 Ultra is likely to make the top configurations of the Mac Pro studio, which is still on ultra M2. And while there is much more than the M3 Ultra cores, the M4 Max is a faster and more efficient version for them; I think the M3 ultra will still be faster in the whole, but it will be interesting to see how much. Testing will say.
