Artificial intelligence increases energy demand but also helps manage energy

The world, especially the United States, is projected to see a widespread jump in data center and demand artificial information for electricity by 2030, according to a recently released IAA report (IEA).

IEA is predicted Report “Energy and Artificial Intelligence” This global demand for data centers in 2030 will be about 945 TRAWATT (TWH), which increased by approximately 128 % of the 415 TWH of the power used in 2024.

“Artificial intelligence will be the most important driver of this increase, with the demand of electricity from Optimized data centers AI IEA said it was more than four times more than four times as expected by 2030.

According to the report, electricity demand from data centers in the United States is the source of “almost half” of the anticipated doubling of the data center demand, which is expected to be observed by that year.

Tink Tank says fossil fuels produce less than half of US electricity for the first month.

In the United States, data centers require about 240 twenty in 2030. IEA said it could indicate 130 % of the current data center's energy consumption level.

According to IEA, power consumption from data centers will not increase by approximately 15 % in the year between 2024 and 2030.

In this report, however, less than 10 % of the world's overall growth in electricity demand is due to the energy needs of data centers by 2030. And out of all the global consumption of electricity foreseen in 2030, IEA said the data centers are “3 %”.

However, there are good news in this report. Energy companies use artificial intelligence to help efficiency and operation. According to the report, “artificial intelligence is currently deployed by energy companies to convert and optimize energy and supply minerals, generate electricity and energy consumption and consumption. There are numerous goals in the game, including reduced costs, increased supply, increased asset length, decreased breakdown time and decrease in emission.”

IEA said renewable energy sources “meet almost half of the extra demand, followed by natural gas and coal, playing an important role at the end of this decade and after the nuclear.”

This report relates the expected prominence Renewable and natural gas In dealing with the projected increase in power supply data centers by 2030 to “cost competition and availability in key markets”.

In the United States, IEA natural gas projects will see more than 130 TWH increases each year by 2030 in power generation for data centers.

By 2030, about 110 TWH will be available for data centers for data centers by 2030.

IEA predicts that renewable and small module nuclear reactors will reduce the need for extra generation of natural gas after 2030, with a low -source source of more than half of the US data center data center by 2035. ”

Small modular reactors are a kind of advanced nuclear reactor.

According to the US Department of Energy, they “can produce a lot of low -carbon electricity but are physically smaller than a regular reactor.”

IEA said small modular reactors are expected to go live “around 2030”.
