The latest episode of Shark Tank India Season 4 introduced a special Campus Edition showcasing the innovation and talent of young entrepreneurs.
Meet Dior, a Class 12 student from Pune preparing for JEE, came up with an impressive pitch that won over all the judges.
Meet, 16, who aspires to be a mechanical engineer, said he plans to combine innovation with practicality by creating affordable electric vehicles. He showcased his groundbreaking venture Demi Bikes – an electric motorcycle with unique features.
The Sharks appreciated his efforts, with Aman Gupta joking about his own uncertainty at 16 compared to Meet's achievements. The judges were impressed when they watched videos of Meet's early projects, including his electric go-kart he built at age 10. Aman remarked, “At your age, most of us didn't know about life, and here you are building cars!”
Meet revealed that he was only 10 years old when he built the Electric-Go-Kart, whereupon a stunned Aman said, “Logon ke daant nahi tote the, kya kar raha hai meet, sharam aarahi hai humein apne bachpan Par.”
Fully made in India, the bike costs approximately Rs 40,000 to manufacture and is designed to be economical as well as high performance. During his pitch, Meet asked for Rs 30 lakh for a 10% equity stake, valuing his business at Rs 3 crore.
The Sharks were visibly impressed by his speech and vision. Notably, Meet built the bike's frame himself, relying on fabricators to do the welding and placing the components independently based on his detailed plans. He also got his cousins involved in the project, seeing as Namitha Thapar said, “You are like every mother's dream cousin.”
Meet highlighted the lack of affordable, high-quality, Made-in-India bikes in the market. After a test drive, Aman pointed out some performance issues with the motorcycle.
In the end, none of the sharks invested and instead advised him to put the project on hold to prioritize his education. All the Sharks praised his clarity and ambition, and promised to support him in non-financial ways while encouraging him to focus on his studies.
