Assassin's Creed Shadows (again) delayed until March 20th

Long awaited Assassin's Creed Shadows delayed again according to press release. It was supposed to release on February 14, but Ubisoft pushed the release date to March 20. detained for the second time. It was originally expected to release in time for the 2024 holiday season.

The reason given is the same as for the last delay. The developers say they will use the extra time to continue polishing the game, which has previously been described as the “biggest installment in the franchise.” Ubisoft says it is constantly reviewing player feedback from the community and making changes accordingly.

However, Diversity suggests that another factor could be here in the game. Ubisoft is officially preparing for sale, something that has been rumored for a long timeand probably wants Assassin's Creed Shadows become a real hit that attracts potential buyers. Star Wars Outlaws was a (relative) failurewhich did not add many “transformative strategic and capitalist options to extract maximum benefit for stakeholders.” This language is taken from today's press release.

Even though this is corporate nonsense, it's probably good news for gamers. Modern AAA developers, with the exception of Nintendo and a few others, love release bug-infested nightmares and charge people $70 for the privilege. This could guarantee that Japanese Assassin's Creed Shadows set ends up being one of the best games in the franchise at launch rather than years later.
