A Chennai-based importer's 7 tweets revealing a bribe of Rs 7 lakh by customs officials has sparked widespread outrage. It reveals how Pravin Ganesan waits for more than 72 hours to commit suicide due to bribery that he is facilitated by an agent named Sritar.

Ganesan detailed that this was his first time importing products from China. After an inquiry about his last three bills of lading (BOE) for similar goods, he claimed that the customs house agent demanded a bribe worth two or three times the value of the shipment.
