At least a dozen people have been injured in a firing at a tavern in Toronto, and the suspect is still at large, police say in the Canadian city.
The shooting took place at 10:39 pm on Friday local time (03:39 GMT Saturday) near the center of Scarborough in East Toronto.
Authorities did not reveal the degree of injury, but said four of the victims had life -threatening injuries.
The suspect, dressed in a black balaclava, has been seen running away from the scene in a silver car, police said.
“I am deeply worried to hear reports of shooting at a tavern in Scarborough,” wrote Mayor Olivia Chow at X.
She said the police chief had “assured that all the necessary resources were located.”
“This is an early and continuing investigation – the police will provide more details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
