Billionaire Jeff Bezos on Sunday denied reports that he is set to tie a $600 million star-studded Aspen wedding to fiancee Lauren Sanchez.
The news of the wedding originated from an exclusive Daily Mail The Amazon founder's lavish wedding is set for December 28, according to a report citing three unnamed sources. Kevin Costner's Dunbar Farm and Matsuhisa Sushi Restaurant will host the ceremony and reception, the report claims.
Many other sites picked up the story, citing the Daily Mail. One such report caught the eye of Bezos' fellow billionaire Bill Ackman, who posted on X that the dollar figure was “not credible.”

“You can't afford to spend that much unless you buy a house for each of your guests,” Ackman wrote.

Bezos, who is worth an estimated $238.5 billion, responded to Ackman's tweet, not only challenging the price, but also suggesting that next weekend's wedding is not on the cards.
“Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening,” Bezos wrote in a post to X. The old adage “don't believe everything you read” is even truer today than ever.
Bezos went on to paraphrase a quote often attributed to Mark Twain.
He writes: “Now a lie can go all over the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don't be gullible.”

Bezos said: “It will be interesting to see if all the media that have been covering and re-reporting this issue, the reforms come and go and don't happen.”

Bezos, 60, and Sanchez, 55, have been engaged since May 2023. Before engagement their relationship It had taken nearly five years. Both had previous marriages, and Bezos split from Mackenzie Scott after two decades.
Bezos' net worth makes him the second richest man in the world after Elon Musk. According to Forbes.
He is now the owner The Washington Post and the aerospace company Blue Origin.

Blue Origin did not immediately respond to a request from FOX Business about whether Bezos and Sanchez will marry the weekend after Christmas.
