Trump shares media coverage of attacks on 'left-wing lunatics' and says Canada could become the 51st country in the US.
The outgoing and incoming presidents of the United States had different messages to Christmas vacationwith Democratic leader Joe Biden urging Americans to think and unite, while Republican Donald Trump offered holiday greetings and then took aim at his political opponents.
Biden He also referred to a video of a viewing of the White House Christmas decorations that was posted on YouTube late on Christmas Day on Tuesday, where he urged Americans to stop “all the noise and anything that divides us”.
“We're here on Earth to take care of each other, to love each other,” Biden said loudly as cameras panned past the evergreens and fireplaces inside the White House. “Too often we see each other as enemies, not as neighbors, not as fellow Americans,” he said.
Biden urged Americans to find a moment of “quiet reflection” to remember to treat each other with respect and dignity, “to live in the light” and to remember that there is more to unite than to divide the American people. He said: “We are very blessed to live in this country.
Trump posted a “Merry Christmas” morning message on Truth People on Christmas Day Wednesday with a photo of himself and his wife Melania, followed by more than a dozen posts or other social media posts supporting his political position. Topics include defense secretary Pete Hegseth and his pursuit of Greenland and Panama Canal.
Later, Trump released a lengthy “Merry Christmas” message that claimed Chinese troops were working on the Panama Canal, and criticized the Canadian prime minister. Justin TrudeauBiden is a Democrat.
“Merry Christmas to the Big Left, who always try to interfere with our Court and our elections,” Trump wrote. “They know their only chance of survival is to be forgiven by someone who knows nothing of what they're doing.”
“Also, to Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, whose Citizens' Taxes are very high, but if Canada were our 51st country, their Taxes would be cut by 60 percent,” Trump wrote.
Mr. Biden took office in 2021 promising to “end this civil war that's pitted against the blue, rural against urban, against liberals,” and said he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race in July to unite the country.
Biden's Democrats lost all battleground states and both houses of Congress November election.
In some ways, the divide in the country has grown, including in the 2024 campaign in which Mr. Biden met Mr. Trump, before Kamala Harris took the Democratic nomination before losing the presidential election.
Trump has called for the prosecution of suspected enemies, the US seizure of the Panama Canal and promised to reform the federal government.
