Liberal comedian Bill Maher criticized his side for cutting off family members during the holidays because of politics.
On Sunday his article “Club Random” In the podcast, Maher and fellow comedian Jay Leno joined the late entertainment icon Sammy Davis Jr. and how he happily embraced President Richard Nixon.
Leno noted how he was seen as a “traitor” among Hollywood liberals for his endorsement of the Republican president.

“It's funny when you say that, like today, we live in a time where you're not allowed to have friends from the other side or cross political lines,” Maher told Leno. “And I forgot that there was an example of that way back when, a guy who crossed political lines. 'Oh, the worst thing you can do – be friends with a Republican. Ahh! Call 911! '”
“This is what I hate about the left,” Maher continued. “And they're not going to take me to Trump's side, which they think they will sometimes, but just the idea of, you know, 'cut your family off for Thanksgiving if they voted for the wrong guy.' F— off, you f—s.' And Sammy – when he embraced Nixon, he was very scorned by the left.

Maher said the same feelings on his HBO show “Real Time” last month during a speech following the victory of President-elect Donald Trump.
He consulted the chief resident in psychiatry at Yale University, Dr. Amanda Calhoun, who raised eyebrows when she told MSNBC's Joy Reid. it was okay to cut off his relatives who voted for Trump and not with them for the holidays.
