Brazilian stocks are lower at the close of trade; Bovespa down 1.15% Via Investing.com


Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in , and sectors led shares lower.

At the end of Sao Paulo, they lost 1.15%.

The best of the session were Blue SA Pref (BVMF:), which rose 3.63% or 0.16 points to trade at 4.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Embraer SA (BVMF: ) added 3.57% or 2.07 points to end at 60.13 and Bradespar SA (BVMF: ) was up 1.37% or 0.22 points to 16.24 in late trade .

The worst performers of the session were Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:), which fell by 8.07% or 2.02 points to trade at 23.00 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:) declined 6.96% or 1.68 points to end at 22.47 and LWSA SA (BVMF:) was down 6.87% or 0.23 points to 3.12.

Declining stocks led the B3 Stock Exchange by 506 to 427 and 69 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) fell to a 52-week low; fall 8.07% or 2.02 to 23.00. Shares in Embraer SA (BVMF:) rose to an all-time high; up 3.57% or 2.07 to 60.13. Shares in LWSA SA (BVMF:) fell to 3-year lows; loss of 6.87% or 0.23 to 3.12.

The , which measures the reported volatility of Bovespa options, rose by 5.47% to 29.31.

Gold futures for February delivery were up 1.01% or 27.50 to $2,745.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Crude oil for March delivery fell 1.14% or 0.90 to hit $77.81 a barrel, while the March US coffee contract fell 1.03% or 3.40 trading at $327.05.

USD/BRL rose 0.74% to 6.05, while EUR/BRL rose 0.81% to 6.23.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.10% at 108.81.
