Israeli authorities expressed their anger after Israeli authorities stopped two lawmakers from entering the country to visit the occupied West Bank. Israel MPs accused the parliament of supporting the boycott against it.
British Foreign Secretary David Lemi said Saturday that it was “unacceptable, contradictory and deep” that two British MPs were detained and refused to enter Israel.
“I have made it clear to my counterparts in the Israeli government that this is not a way to treat the British parliamentarians,” he said.
Abtessem Mohammed and Yuan Yang said they were “surprised at the extraordinary action of Israeli authorities to refuse the entry of British MPs on our journey to meet the occupied West Bank.”

“It is very important that parliamentarians be able to face the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory,” he said, adding that he plans to visit humanitarian aid plans and local communities.
Medical aid to Palestinians, a charity, which helped organize the visit, said the two were questioned to refuse to enter and arrive at Israel's International Airport before deportation.
In a statement by Israeli authorities, the two lawmakers have been accused of demanding a boycott of Israel, saying they are not going as part of a government delegation.
Israeli law forbids the entry of non -citizens and non -residents who support the Palestinian International Boycott Movement, known as boycott, divisions and restrictions or BDS.
Supporters have presented BDS as a violent activity that is based on a similar campaign against colorful South Africa. Israel views the movement as an attack on its justification, and some organizers are accused of denying the allegations they deny.
In February, Israel refused to enter two EU lawmakers, accusing them of promoting the country's boycott.
