According to government data released on January 1, gross GST collections in December rose 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 crore year-on-year (YoY). Mop-ups are reduced by 3 percent monthly.
Central GST (CGST) collection was Rs 32,836 crore, State GST (SGST) was Rs 40,499 crore, integrated IGST was Rs 47,783 crore and cess was Rs 11,471 crore.
Total Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue grew 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 crore in December, up from Rs 1.65 crore in the same month a year ago.
GST from domestic transactions grew by 8.4 per cent to Rs 1.32 crore during the month under review, while tax revenue on imports increased by around 4 per cent to Rs 44,268 crore.
During the month, refunds worth Rs 22,490 crore were issued, registering a growth of 31 per cent over the previous year. After adjusting refunds, net GST collection increased by 3.3 percent to Rs 1.54 crore.
GST collection stood at Rs 1.82 crore in November with an annual growth of 8.5 per cent. The highest total will cross Rs 2.10 crore in April 2024.

Refunds worth Rs 19,259 crore were issued during the month, which registered a decrease of 8.9 per cent compared to the previous year. After adjusting refunds, net GST collection increased by 11 percent to Rs 1.63 crore.
GST collections at Rs 1.87 crore in October was the second best GST collection with a year-on-year growth of 9 percent. The highest total will cross Rs 2.10 crore in April 2024.
