New camera with point and recording? In 2025? This may seem surprising if you are not the latest trends. The reality is the prices of used and older compact cameras have gone through the roof. There is a real interest, especially in younger people, for capable cameras separate from their phones.
Canon is following the recent announcements by Nikon, Panasonic and others with his new camera in the category ever considered dead. Powershot V1 Records 4K video on 60fps, takes 22.3-megapixel photos and has a stabilized zoom lens.
Perhaps the most interesting and hint that there may be more cameras in the future, is that the V1 has a completely new, 1.4-inch image sensor. Most of the most likely V1 competitors, like Sony ZV-1 II, have 1 inch sensors. A larger sensor is generally translated into better image quality.
For bloggers and much more
- 1.4-inch sensor (similar in size to M4/3)
- 4K60 with culture, 4k30 full frame by sampling
- 5,760×3,840 photos (22.3 megapixels)
- Raw and v diary 3
- Lenses of 16 to 50 mm (equivalent of 35mm) f/2.8-4.5
- Automatic focus on double pixels
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI (Micro), 3.5 mm headphones and mic 3.5 mm jacks
Having no electronic viewfinder or built -in flash, the V1 is primarily intended for video. Writes 4K30 with full frame and 4K60 with little culture. The new sensor uses the same automatic focus on double pixels as it is on canon's R6 MKII. There are both mechanical and electronic blinds, with maximum shutter speed 1/2,000 for the former and 1/16,000 for the latter.
Getting light to that new, relatively large sensor is lens f/2.8-4.5 which goes from ultravid 16 mm to more portrait-friendly 50mm (equivalent of 35mm). It is a wide-angle gopro-level and you are likely to be useful-very intended-for manual video and selfie shooting. Mechanical and electronic image stabilization help keep the video smooth and photos without blurring. There is also a three-stop filter for neutral density to allow wider bars or longer exposure to light light.
For people who want more pro-level control of their videos and photos, a 10-bit C Log 3 and shooting raw materials are available. The V1 will include a “dead cat” wind muffin for better audio shooting out. There are microphone and headphone jacks, so you can track and record audio with a special microphone. Multifunctional shoes from above allows you to connect and power other canon accessories, such as wireless mickey.
Recording 4K video can warm any device so that there is a built -in cooling fan to maintain a record time (or at least longis).
Well … when?
Canon expects to release the Powershot V1 in late April … kind. The camera is then officially released only in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. The United States is probably about 2025. Also, US prices are not known. That is 148,500 yen in Japanwhich on the current foreign exchange courses is $ 989. Can that mean $ 999 in the US? It would compete pretty well with Sony ZV-1 II of $ 899 and its smaller sensor.
V1 photos sample. I included it here because the bigger is the best.
