Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on Wednesday that China “is not” in artificial intelligence and that Huawei is “one of the most powerful technology companies in the world.”
Talking to reporters at a technology conference in Washington, Huang said that China could be “just behind” the US for now, but it's a narrow gap.
“We're very close,” he said. “Remember that this is a long, infinite breed.”
Over the past few years, Nvidia has become the key to the world economy because it makes the tokens drive most of the last advanced AI applications. The company faces growing obstacles in the US, including tariffs and ongoing regulations from the time of Biden, which would limit the shipping of the most advanced AI systems to many countries around the world.
This month, Trump administration limited the shipping of NVIDIA H20 to China without a license. This technology, which is associated with funnels used in the rest of the world, has been developed to follow previous American export restrictions. Nvidia said that she would bring a limitation of $ 5.5 billion.
Huawei, which is on the American black list, apparently works Own AI chip for Chinese customers.
“They are amazing in the scope of network calculations and technology, all these central development opportunities AI,” said Huang. “Over the past few years, they have made great progress.”
Nvidia decided that US policy should focus on making its competitive companies, and limiting the sales of Chip to China and other countries threatens American technology.
Huang called the US government again to focus on AI politicians that accelerate the development of technology.
“This is an industry that we will have to compete for,” said Huang.
On Wednesday, Trump called Huang “My Friend Jensen”, cheering the company's last announcement that he plans to build $ 500 billion in the AI infrastructure in the USA in the next five years.
Huang said he thinks that Nvidia would be able to produce its artificial intelligence devices in the USA, which the company said at the beginning of this month that he would gather AI servers with its Foxconn production partner near Houston.
“In the event of the will of will and the resources of our country, I am sure that we can produce the land,” said Huang.
NVIDIA shares fell by more than 20%this year, shifting with a wider market, after almost three times last year. The shares fell by almost 3% on Wednesday.
