The first 29 of approximately 2000 children in need of medical treatment have arrived in Jordan from Gaza. Among the evacuated are the wounded by war and children suffering from diseases such as cancer and rare blood conditions.
Among them is the six-month-old niven Abu Dakka, who has a heart disease, and her mother, Enaas, left four children behind her in gas to accompany her.
They travel by an agreement reached between Israel and Jordan, which is supported by the United States. Each child is accompanied by at least one family member and all who evacuated Gaza were cleared to leave Israel.
The BBC special correspondent, Fergal Keane, was watching them arrive.
