Heads of US and Russian spyware spoke on the phone and agreed to maintain regular contacts to lower the US relations to Russia, News reports on Wednesday.
In the first such contact for more than two years, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and SVR head, a Russian foreign intelligence agency, said on Tuesday, the Russian State Agency said.

Ratcliffe and Sergei Naryshkin “agreed with the regular contact” between their agencies “to contribute to international stability and security, as well as a decrease in confrontation between Moscow and Washington,” Tass reports.
The call was also the first contact, as President Trump started his second term, promising to end the three -year Ukraine's war.
It happened on the same day that Ukraine supported the US proposal For a 30-day ceasefire and agreed with urgent negotiations with Russia to take place in Saudi Arabia.
The latest registered contacts between the CIA and SVR leaders came in November 2022, when Nariskin spoke with the then CIA Head William Berse in Ankara, Turkey.
