A legal challenge against the controversial land seizure law at the center of the US President Donald Trump has been filed by the Democratic Alliance (DA), which is part of the South Africa coalition government.
The law of alienation Allows private land to be seized from the government without compensation in certain cases.
As a result, Trump has frozen foreign assistance to the country, claiming that the land is already confiscated.
The government, which consists of 10 parties, led by the African National Congress (ANC), said the actions of the US president are based on a “campaign for misinformation and propaganda aimed at misrepresenting our great nation”.
Anc was forced in a deal to share power Last year, after the loss of its parliamentary majority, for the first time in three decades, in the general elections in May.
DA, which is the second largest party of the coalition, called the Law on Alienation to be unconstitutional, claiming that no democratic government should be given the power to seize property without compensation.
The party said South Africa President Cyril Ramafosa had signed it in law against her advice.
Earth ownership has long been a controversial issue in South Africa, with most private agricultural land being owned by white people 30 years after the end of the Apartheid racist system.
There is continuous calls for the government to deal with the reform of the Earth and to deal with the past injustice of racial segregation.
But in its argument against the Alienation Act, the majority of DA said that the Apartheid government uses similar powers to eliminate local communities from their land and added that it wanted to protect the rights of ownership of all South Africans.
“This story teaches us that True Recress requires protection of property rights, ensuring that no government is never re -provided by any government,” the party statement said.
In a statement last week, DA said he was deeply concerned about Trump's threat to stop funding.
Anc said that no land had been seized without compensation and added that this would only happen in exceptional circumstances, for example, if the land was needed for public use and all other paths to acquire the land were exhausted.
Trump's executive order on the weekend freezing freezing help said the United States cannot support the South Africa Government Commission for Violations of Rights in its country. “
He also said, while South Africa “continues these unfair and immoral practices,” then the US will not provide help or assistance.
The White House said Washington will also formulate a plan to reset South African farmers and their families as refugees.
It says US officials will take steps to prioritize humanitarian relief, including reception and resettlement through the United States Refugee Refugee Program in South Africa, which are mostly white descendants of early Dutch and French settlers.
President Ramafosa said he would send envoys to different countries to explain the latest changes to government policy, including the Alienation Act.
