Dead body placed next to the Australian pair of the Qatar Airways flight


The Australian couple speaks of the “traumatic” moment when a dead passenger's body is placed next to them when flights on Qatar Roomis.

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin, who traveled to Venice for a dream vacation, told Australia Channel 9 that a woman had died in the path to them during the flight from Melbourne to Doha.

The couple says that the cabin crew was sitting their corpse, which was covered with blankets, next to the other four hours of flight and did not propose to move it, even though there were empty seats.

Qatar Airways said he had apologized for “any inconvenience or disaster that this incident may have caused”, adding that it is in the process of contact with passengers.

The couple said they were not linked to it or proposed support by Qatar Airways or Qantas, the airline through which the flights booked.

They said there should be a protocol to ensure that passengers care in such situations.

While D -Ja Colin managed to move to an empty space nearby, G -N Ring said he was not given the opportunity to make it from the cabin crew -although he had vacant seats.

When the aircraft landed four hours later, he said the passengers were asked to remain placed while the medical staff and the police were on board.

He said that the ambulance staff then began to pull the blankets from the woman and he saw her face.

The couple stated that there should be a “obligation to care” for customers and staff.

“We have to contact to make sure you need support, do you need any counseling?”

G -ja Colin called the experience “traumatic” and said, “We fully understand that we cannot hold the airline responsible for the death of the poor lady, but there must be a protocol to take care of customers on board.”

In a statement of Qatar Airways, he said: “First of all, our thoughts are with the family of the passenger who, unfortunately, died aboard our flight.

“We apologize for the inconvenience or suffering that this incident may have caused and we are in the process of contact with passengers in accordance with our policies and procedures.”

Qantas spokesman said: “The process of processing incidents aboard an airplane like this is managed by the operating airline, which in this case is Qatar respiratory tract.”
