Firefighters at Mueang International Airport in South Korea, at the site of the wreckage of the Jeju Air plane that crashed on landing on December 29, killing 179 people. The Boeing 737-800, which was traveling from Bangkok, was operated by South Korea's most popular budget airline. Hilde Dossone completes her 366th marathon for 2024. in Ghent, Belgium, in aid of the BIG Breast Cancer Research Group. Dawson broke the unofficial Guinness World Record in May 2024 by completing his 151st consecutive daily marathon.

The world says goodbye to 2024. and welcome 2025 with style. The event was marked by many spectacular fireworks displays around the world, including one enjoyed by a family on Ancol Beach in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Police in the US said they believe the explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year's Day is unrelated to the deadly drive-by attack in New Orleans. The driver of a Tesla Cybertruck was killed and seven others injured in Las Vegas after the vehicle, filled with fuel canisters and fireworks, exploded.
