The Philadelphia Eagles are locked in with the No. 1 seed. 2, so, from the team's perspective, Sunday afternoon against the New York Giants has no real meaning.
However, from a human perspective, Saquon Barkley you have the opportunity to rewrite the history books.
Barkley is 101 yards away from Eric Dickerson as the NFL's single-season rushing leader after rushing for 167 yards this past week.

In another outstanding performance, Barkley became the ninth player to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season – what's even more impressive is that he did it in 16 games.
The record, of course, would come in a Week 17 game, so its validity could be debated.
However, there is no doubt that in the minds of the Eagles and the head coach named Nick Sirianni, who have a decision to make: personal goals or those that benefit the team.
In fact, Sirianni said on Tuesday that he will discuss the decision with almost everyone in the building.

“I'm going to talk to our staff, I'm going to talk to the players, I'm going to talk to (general manager) Howie (Roseman), I'm going to talk to Mr. Lurie. I'm going to talk to everybody to try to do that. I'm sure that I am making the best decision for the football team,” Sirianni said 94WIP Radio in Philly on Tuesday during his weekly interview with 94WIP radio station in Philadelphia.
“What's best for the team, and again, what's best for the people who want the record?”
In 2021, Sirianni rested most of his starters except DeVonta Smith, who would go on to set the record for receiving yards.
“Every situation is a little different. I'm not saying one way or the other or how it's going to play out or that I've made up my mind yet.”
Ironically, it will obviously be a great feeling for Barkley to break the record against a team that chose not to re-sign him after six seasons. G-Men, ages 3-13 but they lost the No. 1 this week.
Over the weekend, Cam Ward broke the FBS record for career touchdown passes and did not play in the second half.
