Digitone initially As one of my favorite synths ever. For some people who may appear as a left -handed compliment because, good, Digitone is not just a Synth. It is a powerful versatile gearbox with one of the most flexible sequences on the market. For me, four songs and eight polyphony voices may feel a bit limited. In addition, it is not exactly the best in the drum. This made me paste Digitone on a bracket where I only treat it as a table synthesis controlled by the MIDI keyboard.
Digitone II, at least on paper, seems to solve some of these problems. It currently has 16 voices over 16 music, plus three completely new SYNTH engines expanding its palette, including a completely dedicated copy for the percussion. This is all in addition to the types of self -improvements, preparation and filters we have seen on Digitakt II (8/10, wired recommended), but like siblings based on its model, Digitone II has received a significant price increase to $ 999. With the original now will only with $ 350 on the used market, the choice between the two types is not necessarily cut and dry.

This is a new sound
Before anyone panic, FM engine four operators from Digitone originally still here. Although I have seen some people think that it is not identical to each other and the original personality and personality a bit more, I think those people have hallucinations. I have downloaded some pre -installed designs for the original Digitone on Digitone II and I cannot know the difference between them. It is worth mentioning that, sadly, you cannot download the pre -Digitone II settings on the original digitone, even if they are using the original FM audio engine. It is obvious that there are some technical differences between them under the hood, but at least to my ears, they don't seem to affect the sound.

The three other Synth engines are where Digitone II is really separate from the original. In addition to the original FM engine (called FM Tone in the new model), there is FM drum, adjusting the original audio engine to better fit the percussion. Wavetone is a bit less glass and the sound is similar to what you find on phase deformity and synth can wave. It still decides digital, but not as harsh as FM. After that, there is Swarmer, giving you super -thick sounds that are suitable for potential customers and agencies by arranging six sets of destroyed fluctuations on the main sound. Many of my favorite settings use amazing wavetone, which can convince the classical electronic sound and Krautrock.
