New England Patriots fans seem to have had enough of Jerod Mayo as the head coach's first season winds down.
Reporters from Foxborough, Massachusetts, who covered the Patriots' 40-7 loss to Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night heard chants of “Fire Mayo” blaring from the Gillette Stadium stands.

New England fell to 3-13 with the loss. If the Patriots lose next week, the three wins will be their lowest total since they finished 2-14 in 1992. The team was 4-13 last year – the last year Bill Belichick was in the chair. Mayo replaced Belichick in January.
Mayo was asked about those chants after the game.
“You hear those things. But at the same time, they paid to stay in the seats, and we have to play well,” Mayo told reporters. on ESPN. “If we play well, we don't need to hear those things.”
Crime was one of the most focused issues of the Patriarchs.

Patriots president Jonathan Kraft was caught on camera complaining about the play during the team's loss against the Arizona Cardinals two weeks ago. The offense hasn't improved since.

Deatrich Wise Jr., who has been with the Patriots since 2017, and Davon Godchaux each backed Mayo after the loss to the Chargers.
Wise said he thought he and his teammates should keep believing in Mayo.
“That guy's in his prime. It's not going to be gold. We didn't expect to win the Super Bowl this year. I get it, nobody wants to get beat 40-7, but that song is nonsense,” Godchaux added. .
“Everybody plays a part in this. It's not just Jerod Mayo. The players, the coaches, the front office. We just have to get better as a whole organization,” he said. “I believe in this organization.
