The FBI on Thursday released a new video purportedly showing a man planting on January 5, 2021 pipe bombs outside the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee offices in Washington, DC
Along with the video, FBI also revealed that the suspect is believed to be about 5-foot, 7-inches tall in an effort to get new tips from the public before the fourth year of the crime.
The FBI noted that a $500,000 reward is still available for tips leading to an arrest.
The attempted attack took place on the night of January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitolbut there is no clear connection between these two events.

“Without being able to confirm who the suspect is, it's very difficult to confirm a motive,” David Sundberg, deputy director in charge of the FBI's Washington branch office, told The Associated Press. “Therefore, it would be difficult for us to say that there is a link, although we cannot say that there isn't one.”
Investigators are not even sure if the suspect is a man or a woman.
The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie, a face mask, black gloves and Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes, the FBI said, adding that less than 25,000 of the shoes were sold between August 2018 and the time of the attack.

“Depending on the clothing, it's probably the most unique or the most unique when it comes to the clothes that the suspect was wearing,” Sundberg said. “We hope someone realizes that.”
The FBI has reviewed more than 600 tips, reviewed nearly 39,000 video files and conducted more than 1,000 interviews over the past four years.

And the suspect planted a second bomb in the driveway behind the Republican National Committee building around 8:16 p.m. and was last seen on surveillance footage two minutes later. pass the line of DC houses wearing a bag that investigators believe they used to transport the goods. pipe bombs.
“We still believe that someone has information that they probably didn't realize was important until now,” said a viewer of the FBI video. “We're asking you to come forward and share that information with the FBI.”
No one was injured in the attempted attack and the bombs were safely detonated, but the FBI said it could have been fatal.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris and then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi were near the DNC office before the first bomb was found on the afternoon of January 6 and defused.
