The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced a “restricted” one of the most popular. Potato chips In the United States due to an undeclared allergen.
The recall affects 13-ounce bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips, according to a Frito-Lay statement released by the FDA on Monday.
According to officials, these bags may contain undeclared milk. Frito-Lay told FOX Business that 6,344 bags are affected by the recall.
“The product in this recall was distributed to retail stores and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington,” the company explained in a statement. “Consumers could buy these chips from November 3, 2024.”

Frito-Lay is asking consumers to check their 13-ounce bags of Lay's Classic Potato Chips for a “guaranteed-fresh” date that reads “February 11, 2025” and a production code of 6462307xx or 6463307xx. Any bag with this information should be discarded by consumers who are allergic to milk.
“People with severe allergies or sensitivities to milk are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product,” Frito-Lay's statement added.

The press release said the undeclared milk was found “following an alert through consumer contact,” but said no allergic reactions had occurred.
