Nikita Bier, creator of popular apps like anonymous voting app tbh (acquired by Facebook) and anonymous praise app Gas (acquired by Discord), has created a new app. Explodewhich focuses on disappearing messages in iMessage;
Explode works as a mini-app for Apple's Messages app. It helps you send missing messages to other people. Users can see text or images once; Then it can explode. The app also blocks users from taking screenshots. In a post on X, Bier said only the sender needs to have the Explode app.
Although the application is free to download, Users can sign up for Explode+ for $39.99 per year or $7.99 per month to unlock all features. Paid users receive screenshot notifications; Screenshots can be blocked altogether; They can replay photos they've previously sent and lock photo viewing after sending them.
Bier's posts on X about Explode slanted heavily toward hitting dig. at Snapchat. In a post, he said that after discussions with Snap about acquiring Gas, the social media company has kicked Gas off the SnapKit developer platform.
“Two years ago, I talked to the CEO of Snapchat about buying the previous company. We openly shared how fast we were growing. A week later – over the Thanksgiving holiday – Snapchat launched our app from the SnapKit platform, and our progress came to an abrupt halt,” he said.
In a screenshot of the email seen by TechCrunch, Snap sent an email to developers alleging that Gas was using URL attachments to make friend suggestions without the sender's explicit intent — which Snap considered a violation of its policy and attempted to replicate Snap's functionality. Bier said Gas is working on connections and not relying on Snap's social graph.
However, Snap is a major improvement to the app. In an October 2022 post, Bier said: 23% of Snapchat's US users viewed the Gas story.. Sharing the Gas survey with Snapchat was placed as a key button within the app, and Snap's action broke the app for seven days, he said.

Snap did not immediately comment on the story. Disagreements have arisen. Gas in January 2023 versus Closed in November 2023..
Currently, The app is available in Canada, UK Australia United States France Only available in other countries like Germany and Italy.
