If you've ever stared blankly at your Hinge profile, unsure of what witty, charming quick response will attract the most compatible matches, this new Hinge feature is for you.
The dating app announced Wednesday that it's rolling out a new quick feedback tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you refine and strengthen your profile. Now available for English speaking users.
The new AI feature pushes you to write more detailed answers and avoid common or boring answers. It gives you different levels of guidance depending on your answer, suggesting minor tweaks or major changes. The AI doesn't completely rewrite your answers. Instead, it can suggest changes, give you ideas for other details to include, or steer you away from clichéd answers.
The goal is for the AI tool to inspire you to dig deeper and spark more interesting conversations with matches.

While you don't need to do anything with the feedback Hinge gives you, you also won't be able to turn the feature off. Hinge has confirmed that the feature is powered by OpenAI ChatGPT 4o mini model.
“The feature is tasked with evaluating a dater's profile responses to help ensure their responses are personal, specific and authentic,” a Hing spokesperson said. The company uses its own research and data as part of the instructions it provides to the AI model.
This new feature marks Hinge's first stab at AI training, an area that online dating apps have moved into over the past year. Until now, most AI innovations have been about enhancing security, but Hinge's rapid feedback feature and Tinder photo picker show progress in integrating other forms of artificial intelligence beyond their respective algorithms.
