Three-quarters of all ports in Peru are closed due to huge waves hitting the coast.
Beaches are closed and fishing boats are prevented from going out to sea as a precaution.
The waves were caused by the constant winds off the coast of the United States, according to Peru's Navy Chief of Hydrography and Navigation, Enrique Varea.
