I spent some time with the new 3D Elegoo printer and it's pretty great for $ 300

Just a few years ago, 3D printing changed significantly. A new brand has emerged from Kickstarter, redefining what is possible on the consumer market by introducing closed 3D printers that deliver high quality models with unprecedented speeds. Since then, every company has tried to respond to the change, but it takes some time. But now, companies are starting to release Corexy machines to compete with the Bambo's lab, and Eller Centauri is a great example of this new wave.

Centauri is directed to the starting to the market with the middle range that P1s and p1p From the Bammu Laboratory is currently occupying. As a direct rival to P1 – one of my top choice for 3D printers – It comes at a lower price and, surprisingly, with very few concessions. I spent some time with that, and at the current price of $ 399, I would say it's one to watch.

The first thing I noticed when I postponed Kentauri was the glass door and lid. Eleu could easily save a few dollars there and make them out of plastic. It would be okay, but the weight of the glass and the acoustic submission it produces is a welcome upgrade. It ethos is spread through the centers, also; It doesn't feel cheap. It feels well designed and designed to be a working horse, not a one -year throwing machine.

When comparing P1 and Centauri directly, you can see that the specifications are similar in speed, building area and general accessories. Centauri even exceeds P1 in some areas, such as its more LCD display for easy users. Its interior layout, including clean for hair waste, indicates a possible future multi -color system similar to AMS. If that happens, I hope it will remain compatible with this model – to have to buy a whole new printer just to access the color system would be a tough sale.

When it comes to the overall quality of the prints, carbon Centauri admired. Printing the CNET test I use to test all the printers coming through my workshop showed very few defects, although there were some printing wires, indicating that it was a little too hot and the 0.2mm tolerance test was stuck. Most of the problems can be fixed within the software so that it is not too big for a deal.

I used the Centauri to print a number of fun small flexed dinosaurs and my daughter's first grade figures toys. No matter how much I printed or what material I used, everyone turned out to look great. And all the kids loved them, which is the most important thing. I tested the fastened nozzle with PLA, PETG, TPU, and even shine-in-dark hair, and the Centauri printed all smoothly.

I enjoyed my time with carbon Centauri, and as soon as I finished full testing, I have a feeling that it will be a strong candidate for my best lists. Currently, it is available to lead the ELEGOO website for 300 USD (£ 300). This is a great choice if you are looking for a printer for the first time.
