I don't want them to design a completely new console. I just wanted to show me something really unique. That will reward fans who liked Nintendo's willingness to try, even when those things didn't work out. Nintendo will likely save some of the more attractive JoyCon color options for the device's full launch — presumably. It's scheduled for after the next Nintendo Direct on April 2. I still hope the company shows us something — anything — that makes the next device special. Nintendo needs to look back on 15. Years ago when it was first shared Picture from the 3DS Back in 2010; They remembered to include a nice aquamarine color option.
We haven't seen everything the console has to offer, Nintendo has provided only a glimpse. to hungry customers about what to expect with the magnetically attached JoyCons. Better speakers and an additional USB-C port. I'd like to see extra JoyCon capabilities, for example. Lenovo Legion Go mouse-like FPS mode– In the company's video reveal, JoyCons run across the table like rats. Perhaps each controller has some kind of infrared sensor to track movement. There might be interesting use cases for that. I'd like to know more, but Nintendo doesn't count.
Initial images of the Switch 2 lack Nintendo's “je ne sais quoi” about past Nintendo products, all about being both fun and quirky. Remember, this company brought us the Gamecube, a purple console with a handle. It also came out with the WiiU, a weird console with a controller that was more confusing than exciting.
Nintendo is the kind of company that can take risks. The Switch 2 is a safe bet, even if it's just something players already love. It doesn't always have to be bad. But the appearance tells customers who the device is intended for. The original switch looks like a toy. The JoyCon's default colors of bright red and bright blue make it an easy-to-use device for kids and adults alike.
It doesn't help that we have to wait another four months to learn more about the full specs or the launch name. Until then, more widespread speculation, rumors, and leaks will inevitably surprise the full release. We haven't seen that yet. Switch 2 will get 4K in some games– We'd love to see it push the original Switch games to a higher resolution. But that might be too much.
Waiting is always the worst part. April is still a long way off, so in the meantime I'll be filling my table with bright lights and action figures. I don't need another black device to get me into the gaming mood.
