The United States and Italy signed the pact to strengthen the efforts to restore the remains of US soldiers who were missing during World War II, officials said on Tuesday.

A new agreement on the resumption of the remains of the dead soldiers in Italy was signed on Tuesday by Luigi La Rock, Head of the Italian Heritage Protection Department, and Kelly McKiga, DPAA director.
“The right to research and recall those who died during the war now, combined with the defense of the archaeological heritage, for which the Ministry of Culture is responsible,” said Alessandro Julie, Culture Minister.
Julie stated that the agreement was another step in “our ten -year cooperation with the US Power Agency and missing in action as tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to promote our freedom.”
