Shark Tank India Season 4 returns this Monday with more drama and sharp exchanges. In its latest promo, YouTuber Gaurav Taneja pitches his whey protein brand, backed by a jaw-dropping success — Rs 1 crore in sales within an hour, even with a password-protected website.
Mora Aman Gupta couldn't contain his praise: “It's a dream for many businesses.” Vinita Singh echoed the sentiment, simple yet poignant, “Oh my God.”
The exchange turned witty when Taneja quipped, “Mora, aaj kal har founder ko influencer bane ka kida aa gya hai” (These days, every startup seems to have a desire to become an influencer). Vinita Singh's response was sharp: “Aur influencer ko founder bane ka” (and influencers seem to want to be founders).
Taneja's partner shared the success story of their whey protein business, and the Sharks were visibly impressed. The duo's ability to generate Rs 1 crore in sales highlighted the power of influencer-based branding. Aman Gupta hailed their achievement as something most businessmen dream of.
The promo also teased heated moments between returning shark Aman Gupta and newcomer Kunal Bahl. Bahl's high investment offers – Rs 4 crore to close one round and Rs 8 crore for another – created competition among the sharks. Gupta didn't back down, and Bahl confidently countered, stating, “This is your first time in Shark Tank, but this is not my first time dealing.”
This season highlights small-town entrepreneurs with talent and daring valuations. 250 crore valuation pitch to Aman Gupta “Hum Pagal Hain Kya?” shouted. (Are we crazy?). Another group's valuation of Rs 300 crore equally surprised the board. But some pitches inspired bidding wars, underscoring the range of entrepreneurial ambition on display.
One notable pitch was for an AI-powered device capable of recording conversations and compiling data on acquaintances. Anupam Mittal, one of the venture's founding investors, called the technology “not unlike magic.”
