Israel has killed at least 38 Palestinians in Gaza in the past 24 hours, including five journalists.
Gaza's Ministry of Health on Thursday said the total number of Palestinian deaths since October last year was 45,399, with more than 107,000 injured.
On Thursday morning, Israel rammed a broadcast vehicle parked near the al-Awda hospital in the heart of the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza, killing five journalists from Quds Today television, Al Jazeera's Anas al-Sharif said.
These journalists are Fadi Hassouna, Ibrahim al-Sheikh Ali, Mohammed al-Ladah, Faisal Abu al-Qumsan and Ayman al-Jadi.
Al-Sharif of Al Jazeera said al-Jadi was waiting for his wife in front of the hospital when she was pregnant to give birth to their first child.
Security forces recovered the bodies of the victims and extinguished the fire at the scene, Quds News Network reported.
The Israeli army said it carried out a “threat” on a press vehicle carrying members of the Palestinian group, Islamic Jihad, and that it will continue to take action against “terrorist organizations” in Gaza. It did not provide evidence to support its claims.
Israel, which has not allowed foreign journalists to enter Gaza except during military operations, has been criticized by several press freedom organizations, which now say the besieged enclave is the world's most dangerous area to report on.
