Two women were raped with bands, and the man was killed in an attack near a popular UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern India, according to police.
The two women – an Israeli tourist and an Indian host operator – were starry with three male tourists near a lake in Hamp, Karnakaka when they were attacked by a group of men on Thursday night, police warder Ram Arassidi told Reuters.
Arassidi said the attackers pushed the men into the Tungabhadra River channel before raping the women.
Two of the men, one of them, survived, and the third person's body was restored on Saturday morning, he said.
“Five people – two women and three men – were attacked near Sanapur,” Arassidi said.
“Two of them are foreigners, American (man) and another woman from Israel.”
Police have arrested two of the men accused of the attack and the investigation continues, Arassidi said.
Police believe that men followed the group.
According to the testimony of the witnesses of one of the women, the group exploded near a temple in Sanapur when three men arrived on a motorcycle and asked them where they could get gasoline.
As one group member gave them instructions, one in three men asked for 100 rupees ($ 1.29) from tourists.
“Because the host operator did not know them, she told them there was no money,” police said.
“When men repeatedly insisted, one of the male tourists gave them 20 rupees.
“Then the three men seemed to argue.”
The body of one of the male tourists was later found in the Tungabhadra channel in the Kopal neighborhood of Karnataka.

“As soon as the incident was reported, I received information from the relevant police, conducted an in -depth investigation and instructed them to quickly identify the culprits.
“Police arrested two defendants in connection with the case and continue the investigation.”
Attacks against women in India gained international attention last year after the brutal rape of a junior doctor at a hospital in the eastern city of Kolka.
The attack has caused national outrage and protests due to a lack of safety for women.
