Jean Smart has called on television networks preparing to host awards shows not to broadcast the ceremonies but instead donate funds to help the Los Angeles community amid the deadly wildfires.
Smart, who took home the award Golden Globes days before the fire broke out, he made an appeal on Instagram.
“WARNING! With all due respect, during the Hollywood festivities, I hope that any of the networks watching the upcoming awards will seriously consider NOT watching on TV and donating their money. they would have found it in fire victims and firefighters, ” The 73-year-old the actor shared is Jan. 8.

Hollywood responded to Several wildfires are burning around Los Angeles County by postponing several events – including awards shows. The Critics Choice Awards, which will take place on January 12, have been postponed until January 26.
“This ongoing tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community,” CCA CEO Joey Berlin said in a statement shared with Fox News Digital. “All our thoughts and prayers are with those fighting the devastating fires and all those affected.”
“The rescheduled event will take place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and will be broadcast on E! and around the world. It will also be available on Peacock the following day.”

Awards show announcements have also been postponed for the Academy Awards and the SAG Awards.
Academy Awards nominees will now be announced on January 19th instead of January 17th.
The postponement comes as production has been suspended for several TV shows, including “The Price is Right,” hosted by Drew Carey, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “After Midnight.” Universal Studios also canceled the shooting of several series, including “Hacks,” “Ted Lasso” and “Suits LA.”
The first movies were affected by the Palisades fire, which has burned more than 17,000 acres. The premieres of Jennifer Lopez' “Unstoppable” and Blumhouse's “Wolf Man” were canceled Tuesday evening.

At least five people died, and thousands of buildings were burned violently wildfires broke out in Los Angeles in the area, officials said. Fast-moving flames engulfed homes and businesses as residents fled smoke-filled canyons and celebrity hotspots.
Many of the large fires that started on Tuesday were fueled by power Santa Ana spiritwhich flew over 70 mph (112 kph) in some places. Winds eased Thursday, but the National Weather Service warned that even the reduced winds could spread the fire quickly.
More than 1,900 buildings have been destroyed, and the number is expected to rise. More than 130,000 people are also under evacuation orders in urban areas, from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena, a number that continues to change as new fires break out.
