The New York Giants co-owner John Mara joked Monday that he was angry with Saquon Barkley for the trade he made, which apparently backfired at the end of his time with the team.
Mara said during an episode of “Hard Knocks” earlier this year that he would have trouble sleeping if Barkley joined the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason. Of course, Barkley signed with the Eagles and helped them win the NFC East title.

Barkley's trade was announced last week, and Mara spoke about it after announcing the team would retain general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll. for the year 2025.
“I called him before the game and told him I was very angry with him based on our relationship over the years. He said, 'What do you mean?' I said you should have at least asked me to be in business with you,” Mara said.
“I said I was looking. I said there is an acting family in our family. It's not just my children's children.”
