Twice asked if they agreed, Julie cited Canada's long stand on the Israeli Palestinian conflict and said “the comments were makrooh.”
He said that the Palestinians have the right to self -determination and argued that the best future in the Middle East is the solution to two states, in which the Palestinian state lives in peace with Israel.
“We do not believe in the forced migration of the people and we think that what we do should be in accordance with international law,” Julie told the Halifax Chamber of Commerce on Friday.
He said the resolution of the two states would give Saudi Arabia the opportunity to normalize relations with Israel and create further stability in the Middle East.
Julie added that countries should focus on putting “maximum pressure against Iran” to stop working with Russia and China to end instability in the region.
