Look for survivors after a passenger plane and helicopter collide in DC


An extensive search and rescue operation is currently underway after a Flight of American Airlines is confronted with a helicopter in Washington, with both colliding into the Potomak River.

The head of the emergency services, John Donelli, said the conditions were “extremely rough” in the dark and with icy temperatures.

Jet, who came from Wichita, Kansas, wore 60 passengers and four crew members. Three soldiers from the US Army were aboard the military helicopter.
