The wildfire tearing through Los Angeles County sounded “like a war zone,” according to a resident.
People at the Pasadena evacuation center also described watching flames engulf their neighborhoods as they fled Altadena, where the Eaton fire had taken hold.
There are at least five active fires in the county and neighboring regions.
